Add stock to a product
Record stock without an order, choose quantity tracking or individual RFID tracking, and print labels.
Use Add stock when stock arrives without a purchase order, or when adding the first stock to an existing product. For deliveries linked to an order, use Receiving.
Steps
- Open the product in Inventory, choose Change quantities, then Add stock.
- Under Where?, choose a spot: Scan or type a spot. If the final spot is not yet known, choose Unplaced (Receive without a spot; place later using Move).
- For a product with no stock, choose how to track it:
- Quantity: Count units; no label per unit;
- Unique (RFID): Each unit gets its own EPC label.
- Enter the quantity. With Unique (RFID), use Custom EPC numbers to specify a sequence, such as
1-9, 10, 20-25. - Confirm. Choose Print labels to print them directly on a connected printer.
The tracking method is fixed
Quantity or unique tracking is set per product: The tracking method is fixed once the product has stock. To switch later, first empty the product’s stock. Otherwise, the app says: Cannot change tracking mode with existing stock; empty the item’s stock first.
Tracking mode and EPC numbers
With Unique (RFID), Tracking mode determines how an EPC is constructed:
- Own Prefix: Use your GS1 Company Prefix;
- Supplier Prefix: Extract from the product’s GTIN.
Organisation-wide settings (SGTIN mode, GS1 company prefix, partition and starting serial number) are in EPC settings.
Large quantities
Use import for many products at once. Choose Import and drag your Excel file into the window (Supported: .xlsx, .xls), or download the Template first. Review import shows the outcome for each row: New, Update, Overwrite, Unchanged or Error. Import cannot reduce RFID stock by quantity; remove EPCs for that.
