Receive a delivery
Receive an inbound order in groups or pallets, handle exceptions such as excess quantities and unknown products, and complete or leave the order open.
Receiving records what actually arrived against an inbound order, by line, group or pallet, including discrepancies. Received goods then appear as stock awaiting putaway.
Before you start
- The inbound order is listed under Inbound. Home shows expected today or receipt overdue with Start receiving.
- Interrupted? Home shows Resume receiving and what is already prepared: 24 units ready in 2 receiving groups.
Receive goods
- Open the order and choose Receive.
- Choose where the goods will go: Receive loose, the Receiving dock or a New pallet. Each pallet gets its own group (Pallet 1, Pallet 2).
- Count by line, scan barcodes or read RFID tags. Each line shows Open, Complete, Excess or Not on the order. For unique units, you see Fixed list (8 of 10 known).
- A scan that does not fit gets a clear outcome:
| Outcome | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Not on the order | The product is not on this order. |
| More than expected | More than the ordered quantity. |
| Already in stock | The unique unit is already in your inventory. |
| Already counted | This tag has already been read during this receipt. |
| Unknown tag | Beam does not recognise the tag. |
Receiving more than ordered requires confirmation: Accept excess? with Accept excess or Do not book. An administrator can set a tolerance; excess quantities beyond it are rejected (Quantities above the plan are rejected).
Complete receiving
- Choose Complete receiving. The panel summarises: 6 lines · book 48 units.
- Choose what happens to the stock: Put away directly at a final location, or Receive first, then put away through a task. The latter creates a putaway task.
- Choose what happens to the order: Close order or Leave open (partial delivery). With a partial delivery, the shortage remains visible on the order.
- The app books the lines (Booking… (3/6)).
If the policy Received stock starts on hold is enabled, the received stock starts blocked. Release it after checking.
Interrupted completion
If the connection drops during booking, next time you see Unfinished completion: an earlier completion was not finished (3 of 6 steps). Choose Resume to continue where you left off. If part fails, you see Not everything was booked with Try again or Skip failed bookings.
Reverse a receipt
Use Reverse receipt to undo an incorrect receipt. This is possible as long as the stock has not since been moved, reserved or put on hold. The original history is retained.
