Put received stock away
Complete a putaway task, use recommended locations, record a reason for choosing another location and group units on a pallet.
Received does not mean stored. Stock still on the dock after receiving waits in a putaway task until someone moves it to a final location.
Before you start
- Home shows 3 putaway tasks waiting for someone with Start putaway. The same tasks appear under Stock in Tasks.
- Claim the task if a colleague has not already done so.
Put stock away
- Open the task. You see the received stock and its temporary location.
- Choose a final location with Scan location or Choose spot.
- Choose Put everything here, or Put everything away and complete task if this is the last location.
If stock remains, the task stays open until everything has been put away.
Recommended locations
Recommended putaway locations suggests places based on your location’s strategy: FIFO, Location route, Priority or Manual strategy. Each suggestion includes a reason: existing stock, zone order, nearest, available capacity or default location.
A recommendation is advice. If you choose a different place, the app asks you to explain it (Explain the alternative location) with a Reason for deviation. That reason is recorded in the activity log.
Group stock on a pallet
To put units on a pallet first and then move everything together:
- Choose Grouping pallet and scan its EPC, or choose Select pallet.
- Choose Put 12 on the pallet.
- Move the pallet and its contents in one action; see containers and pallets.
The app rejects tags that are not pallets (This tag is not a pallet) and pallets with an active job (This pallet already has a job in progress).
Stock on hold. You can put away stock that is on hold. It remains blocked until someone releases it.
