Put stock on hold and release it
Hold a quantity with a reason so it cannot be picked, then release it once the review is complete.
Held stock is physically present but excluded from availability. This keeps damaged, uninspected or returned units out of picking without writing them off.
Put a quantity on hold
- Open the product and stock position.
- Choose Hold quantity.
- Enter the quantity and choose a reason. A reason is required (Required audit reason):
| Reason | Use |
|---|---|
| Damaged | The units are damaged and need review. |
| Inspection | A quality check is needed before release. |
| Return | Returned by a customer, not yet reviewed. |
| Count discrepancy | A difference found in a count is still being investigated. |
| Other | Any other reason, with an explanation. |
- Tap Hold 4. The stock position now shows Held alongside Available.
Release stock
- Open the same stock position and choose Release held quantity.
- Choose the review outcome: Approved, Repaired, Incorrectly held or Other.
- Tap Release 4.
Write off instead of releasing
If stock is lost, defective or sold, correct the quantity through Change quantities with the reason Lost, Defective or Sold. If something is found later, restore it with Found or Incorrectly written off. Every step appears in the stock history as Held, Released or Adjusted.
Receive on hold. An administrator can configure received stock to start on hold (Start received stock on hold). Release it after inspection. See company settings.
For unique units, use the same process for each EPC: Place on hold and Release hold in EPC details.
