Choose a working location

Everything you do on the floor in Beam happens within one location: a warehouse, shop or distribution centre. The app calls this your working location. Without one, you only see the organisation overview.

Choose a working location

1. Open Workspace. On a tablet, tap the location row in the sidebar (You are working in or Choose working location). On a phone, choose Workspace in the settings menu.
2. Choose a location from the list. Its name and location code then appear in the sidebar.
3. The Location menu appears with Home, Inventory, Orders, Inbound, Tasks, Counts, Floor plan, EPCs, Containers and Scanning.

You only see locations you can access. If one is missing, ask an administrator to use Grant location access in Users.

Organisation overview

In the same screen, you can choose Organisation overview: read-only across all your locations. You then see Insights and the Activity log for the whole organisation, but cannot change inventory, move items or process orders. The app explains this: Choose one working location before changing inventory, moving items or processing orders.

Good to know. If you open a location-specific section without a working location, the app takes you to Insights. Choose a working location first, then open the section again.

Switch between locations

Switch through the same Workspace screen. Open screens reload for the new location. A count you started at the previous location remains there.
