Pick an order

Pick from the list, mark items manually and confirm them with RFID, adjust pick settings and handle tags that do not belong on the order.

Picking means collecting the lines of an outbound order. Beam tracks how much has been picked on each line and, for unique units, exactly which units.

Before you start

Pick from the list

  1. Open the order and start picking. From Home, choose Start picking.
  2. The pick screen shows To pick, Complete and Skipped, along with progress: 3 of 8 products picked.
  3. For each line, do one of two things:
    • mark a product tracked by quantity as picked and enter the quantity;
    • scan an RFID product. Each scanned tag counts as one picked unit.
  4. You can also mark an RFID line first and scan later. The line shows Marked as picked — scan EPCs and the order shows 3 marked · 2 EPCs still to scan.
  5. When everything is picked, the app shows Order Complete! and you proceed to the destination.

Insufficient stock appears as Not enough stock (2 of 4 available) or 2 EPC(s) not found in stock. Pick what is available; the rest stays open.

Pick settings

Use the settings control to open Pick settings:

  • View: Classic list with all line actions or Map-guided route with swipeable pick steps; see pick along a walking route.
  • Sorting: Default (Marked items at the bottom), Location walking route, By name or By category.
  • Filter: All products, Manual only or RFID only.

Tags that do not belong on the order

A tag that does not match an open line is not booked. The app puts it in a separate area: These tags were seen but skipped. They have no effect on the order. The sections explain why: Known items — not on this order, Correct item — already in another order or Unknown tags. Use Clear all to empty the area.

Undo picks

Open Scan history. You can reverse recent scans with Undo or Undo all, or resolve an error with Fix errors. For larger quantities, the app asks for confirmation: This reverses 3 individual picks, 5 units in total. Picks that have since been processed further cannot be reversed; the app tells you when this applies.

At the destination

Once everything is collected, the app shows Everything collected — go to the destination. Tap I am at the destination and Scan the destination code. If you scan the wrong location, the app says This is not the order’s destination.

Complete an incomplete order

You can still finish if you cannot fulfil the entire order. The app asks: 5 of 8 picked. Complete anyway? Unpicked units remain outstanding and the order is recorded as completed with a shortage. Choose Complete with shortage or Continue picking. The shortage remains visible on the order.
