Beam Overhead Scanner

Our smart ceiling-mounted solution. Automatically detects RFID tags as items enter or exit zones perfect for checkpoints, verification points and fixed scanning locations. Hands-free tracking, 24/7 monitoring.

Why choose the Beam Overhead Scanner

  • Automatic zone entry/exit detection
  • 24/7 monitoring without staff
  • Perfect for checkpoints & verification
  • Ceiling-mounted: no floor space needed
  • Works with existing infrastructure
  • Instant alerts on unexpected movements

Fixed position, continuous tracking

Mount above doorways, checkpoints or specific zones. The scanner continuously monitors the area below and automatically detects when tagged items enter or exit. Perfect for verification points and location tracking.

  • Zone-based tracking — Know exactly when items cross boundaries
  • Automatic verification — Validate expected items against actual scans
  • 24/7 monitoring — Continuous tracking without manual work

RFID reading from above

Mount to ceiling, connect network and power, configure your zone done. Manage everything remotely through Beam. No maintenance, no manual scanning needed.

  • Quick installation — Mount, connect and configure in hours
  • Remote configuration — Adjust zones and settings from anywhere
  • Self-monitoring — Alerts you when attention is needed

Frequently asked questions

What's the ideal mounting height?

Typically 2.5-4 meters above the floor. Higher mounting increases coverage area but may reduce read accuracy for smaller tags. We help you find the optimal height during installation.

Can I use multiple scanners together?

Yes. Multiple overhead scanners can work together to cover larger zones or create multi-point verification. They're automatically coordinated through the Beam platform.

Does this work with my WMS/ERP?

Yes. The Overhead Scanner integrates with all major ERP and WMS systems via REST API. We sync zone events and inventory updates in real time.

What happens during network drop?

The scanner stores all reads locally and automatically syncs when connection is restored. No data is lost and monitoring continues uninterrupted.

How do I define zones?

Zones are configured through the Beam platform. You can create custom detection areas, set entry/exit triggers, and define what actions should happen when items are detected.

Compatibility is only the beginning.

A reader’s ability to connect does not prove that every tag can be read reliably in every environment. That is why hardware, tags, products, read zones, volumes and exceptions are tested together before any performance commitment becomes part of the scope.
