Frequently asked questions

Do I need to configure anything to start scanning?

No. Install the Beam App on the Chainway C72 (or it comes pre-installed when ordered through Beam) and you can immediately start reading and writing RFID tags. The scanner integrates directly with the Beam App. No pairing, no bridge devices, no IT setup required.

Can I read and write RFID tags with this scanner?

Yes. Through the Beam App you can both read existing RFID tags and write/encode new ones directly from the handheld. This makes it ideal for tagging new inventory, updating tag data, or encoding replacement tags on the spot.

How many items can I scan per cycle count?

Unlimited. The handheld stores scans locally and syncs when connected to WiFi. You can scan thousands of items in a single session without worrying about memory limits.

Can I use this with my existing WMS?

Yes. The handheld syncs with the Beam platform, which integrates with all major WMS and ERP systems. Your scan data flows directly into your existing workflows.

How long does the battery really last?

8-10 hours of continuous scanning. In practice, most users get through a full shift with battery to spare. The optional charging dock keeps the scanner ready between shifts.

What if I drop it?

The scanner is built for warehouse use with IP65 rating and survives drops from 1.5 meters to concrete. If something does break, we offer next-day replacement under warranty.

Compatibility is only the beginning.

A reader’s ability to connect does not prove that every tag can be read reliably in every environment. That is why hardware, tags, products, read zones, volumes and exceptions are tested together before any performance commitment becomes part of the scope.
